Colorado Youth for a Change
About My Services
Colorado Youth for a Change (CYC) was established in 2005, when 18,000 students were being pushed out or pulled out of schools each year before completing a diploma. Since then, CYC has come alongside tens of thousands of Colorado students as they have overcome barriers to education and decreased the dropout rate by more than half. CYC’s revamped mission in 2023 is to address barriers to learning by providing individualized supports throughout pivotal stages of students’ education journeys.
CYC programs serve young people who have been deeply impacted by inequality and systemic bias in schools and communities, and as a result, they experience complex barriers to learning. CYC’s five core programs increase access to education and resources through high-impact tutoring, evidence-based academic and social-emotional interventions, and reenrollment support. These programs serve 5,000 preschool through 12th grade students each school year, helping them to increase skills, confidence, and a sense of belonging. CYC partners closely with 25 school districts and more than 120 schools in 14 counties statewide.
