Casey Ballinger

Vice Chair

Casey Ballinger is the Sexual Assault Response Program Manager with the Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault (CCASA). Prior to her role with CCASA, she worked as a community-based victim advocate for over a decade providing support to survivors of sexual and domestic violence as they navigated what healing means on their own terms after harm has occurred. Ballinger developed and supervised the nation’s first post-conviction victim advocacy program – creating intentional opportunities for survivors of sexual harm to have their voices considered in the treatment and supervision of those convicted of sexual offenses and through that work discovered the field of restorative justice. Both within her role with CCASA and as a restorative justice practitioner in the community, Ballinger prioritizes the importance of educating those who have caused and/or impacted by harm and their communities about the array of options and tools available as they seek accountability and healing. In addition to her role on the Council, Ballinger currently sits as a victim representative on Colorado’s Sex Offender Management Board, and in 2024 was a co-recipient, alongside Dr. Alissa Ackerman, of the Gail Burns-Smith Award for her contributions to the field.
