Benito Garcia

Council Member

Chief Garcia has been Chief of Police for the Milliken Police department since 2014 and has been with the Milliken Police department since 1996. He is the Vice President of the Weld County Chief’s Association. Currently he serves on the Aims Community College, Criminal Justice Advisory Board. He currently oversees the Milliken Community Court which incorporates restorative justice principles and practices. His work with youth as a mentor and coach earned him the Outstanding Alumnus Award with the Boys and Girls Club and he continues to make mentoring young people a priority in his community. He was also awarded Officer of the Year by the Youth and Family Connections at the 6th Annual Heroes Celebration November 6, 2014. Chief Benito Garcia was appointed to Restorative Justice Council in 2016 by State Court Administrator Gerald Marroney as a result of HB15-1094 succeeding Chief Robert Thomas.
